The fund organizes annual benefit events to support research in synovial sarcoma. ***
2010 Event - Istanbul, Turkey This year’s event will be held in Istanbul, Turkey. Nabil first visited Turkey with Asu, a native of Turkey, in 2002 and went back again in the summer of 2005 for a fun and relaxed vacation with her family. He really enjoyed his time there and took pride in his ability to fit in. He always imagined that one day all of his family and friends from around the world would come to Istanbul to celebrate his and Asu’s marriage. This year’s event hopes to capture the spirit of the city and people he loved, and give Nabil the celebration he always wanted. Please let us know if you’re planning on participating in the marathon. You’ll have a choice of running/walking in the 8k, 15k, or full marathon. You may register online for the marathon until September 30, though we encourage you to register as soon as possible. For more details, click here. Participants will have the choice to then stay in Turkey for a planned group trip around some of the country’s most historical and interesting sites. *** 2009 Event – Central Park, New York Last year’s event took place in New York City. Participants joined hundreds of other runners/walkers in beautiful Central Park for the 5K Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research. All money contributed to the Fund in connection with the run/walk was earmarked to support synovial sarcoma research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Following the run, the PNB Fund hosted a benefit lunch at Pasha Restaurant, a few blocks from the Park. Please see here for photos of the 2009 benefit event.
